Meet the Team

At AMA Village Care, we believe care starts with people—real people who understand the value of community, culture, and compassion. Get to know the team behind the mission.

ASH OWEN

Co-Founder & CEO

My name is Ash, co-founder and CEO of AMA Village Care, an in-home caregiver matching agency built on compassion, connection, and the belief that every family deserves a strong, supportive village.

Originally from Northeast Texas, my journey took me across the country as a travel nurse with my husband before settling down in Bryan, TX, a place that quickly felt like home. I’ve spent my career in critical care nursing, and my husband, Jared, also works in healthcare, bringing heart and hustle to his role in medical sales. Together, we’re raising two amazing kids, Cooper and Denver, and two lively shepherd-mix pups, Stagg and Weller.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Tyler and am currently continuing my education in graduate school to expand my impact in the world of healthcare and caregiving. Lifelong learning is something I deeply value, especially when it comes to serving others with excellence, empathy, and skill.

My professional life has always centered around caring for people, but becoming a mom to two deepened that calling. I know firsthand what it feels like to build a life without family nearby—to long for support, for trust, for someone to help carry the load. That personal need became the foundation for AMA Village Care: a way to connect families with caregivers who don’t just help, they belong.

I believe deeply in the power of shared meals, spontaneous travel, and gathering around joy. We love to explore new places as a family, cook together, and welcome others into our lives with open arms. As a Christian, my faith is a guiding light in how I love and serve others, and it’s woven into the heart of this company.

At AMA Village Care, we’re not just offering in-home care. We’re helping families build a village rooted in trust, culture, and care—because no one should have to do this alone.

ALO OVALLE

Co-Founder & CFO

My name is Alo, co-founder and CFO of AMA Village Care, an in-home caregiver matching agency rooted in compassion, cultural integration, and accessibility for all families.

Born and raised in Texas with deep roots in Guadalajara, Jalisco, my life has always been a blend of cultures. That dual identity shaped my perspective and gave me a deep appreciation for the importance of cultural connection, especially in caregiving.

With a bachelor's degrees in Neuroscience, Film & Digital Media, and Nursing from Baylor University, my academic path reflects my deep curiosity and passion for both storytelling and care, two elements I believe are essential in building meaningful human connection.

My commitment to caregiving stems from both personal experience and professional insight. I was raised by a resilient single mother who did everything she could, but childcare was always out of reach - a luxury, not a lifeline. More recently, my own family struggled to find a culturally appropriate caregiver for my grandfather during his battle with dementia, which took a deep emotional and physical toll on all of us.

As a bedside nurse, I’ve seen firsthand how the lack of accessible caretakers places immense strain on families, especially those from underserved or culturally diverse backgrounds. These experiences affirmed my belief that finding care for those you love should never be a luxury. It is a human right.

That belief is at the core of AMA Village Care, where we match families with trusted, culturally aligned caregivers who bring more than just support: they bring understanding.

When I’m not working, baking, or reading (which I always am), I’m spending time with my best friend and dog, Tater.

Meet Our Educational Specialist

With a lifelong passion for nurturing young minds, our Educational Specialist brings decades of experience in early childhood education, faith-based leadership, and community care to the AMA Village Care team.

As a proud grandmother to three beautiful grandbabies, she understands firsthand the importance of creating safe, engaging, and enriching environments where children can learn and thrive. Her career has spanned roles as a daycare director, early childhood teacher, and children’s ministry leader, giving her a deep understanding of both the heart and science behind child development.

At AMA Village Care, she plays a vital role in shaping the educational and developmental side of our program. Her work ensures every caregiver is supported not just as a childcare provider, but as a mentor and teacher in the home.

What She Does:

  • Creates Educational Materials: Designs age-appropriate lesson plans, developmental activity guides, and cultural learning resources for caregivers to use with families.

  • Trains and Supports Caregivers: Leads caregiver development sessions covering early learning strategies, child behavior guidance, and nurturing communication.

  • Family Resources: Provides families with easy-to-follow routines, developmental milestone charts, and educational tips for supporting children at home.

  • Program Enrichment: Builds learning frameworks that promote growth, creativity, and emotional wellness in every placement.

  • Quality Oversight: Reviews caregiver profiles and matches to ensure they meet AMA Village Care’s developmental and educational standards.

Her deep-rooted belief that “every home can be a place of learning and love” is woven into everything she creates. Through her guidance, AMA Village Care families receive more than care—they receive a foundation for lifelong learning and connection.

Driven by faith, love, and a teacher’s heart, she embodies our mission to help every family build a home where children can flourish and caregivers feel empowered to make a lasting difference.
